The Jacques Marie Mage Hatfield in Solaris is an original JMM icon, first released in Spring 2015. Inspired by the rugged elegance of a bygone era, this distinctive silhouette returns for the Photochromic Collection. Limited to only 250 pieces, the Hatfield combines bold character, refined craftsmanship and responsive photochromic technology.

Vision

The Hatfield features a distinctive small-sized silhouette with a refined yet expressive character. Its 10mm cured cellulose acetate construction creates a strong presence while maintaining elegant proportions. In the Solaris colourway, the frame comes in polished Whiskey acetate with custom double-laminated temples. Clear beige exteriors meet whiskey crystal interiors, creating a subtle contrast that reveals itself beautifully from every angle.

Meanwhile, the Hatfield is fitted with Armorlite 4-base photochromic orange lenses. These specialized lenses respond naturally to changing light conditions. Outdoors, ultraviolet rays activate the lenses and deepen their orange tint. Indoors, they gradually return to a lighter shade.

Therefore, the Hatfield offers a dynamic visual experience throughout the day. The lenses also provide 100% UVA and UVB protection while filtering blue-violet light. In addition, their backside anti-reflective treatment enhances visual comfort.

Crafted to perfection

The Hatfield combines its sculptural acetate with distinctive JMM details. Signature arrowhead front pins, finished in 18K Dark Gold, add a refined touch to the front. Furthermore, exposed Classic wirecores feature delicate hairline details with matching Dark Gold finishing.

Custom 5-barrel hinges, also finished in Dark Gold, provide a precise and durable construction. Meanwhile, spur-shaped rivetheads complete the temples with another subtle signature detail. Finally, inner-temple hallmarks in Gold foil add a discreet finishing touch.

As a result, the warm Whiskey acetate works beautifully with the Dark Gold hardware. Every element reinforces the distinctive character of this JMM icon.

Limited production batch

Only 250 pieces of the Jacques Marie Mage Hatfield in Solaris have been produced. This limited edition therefore offers a rare interpretation of one of JMM’s original icons within the innovative Photochromic Collection.

Packaging

The Hatfield comes in a Bordeaux Empire silk-wrapped monograph box set. It includes a custom leather eyewear case handcrafted in Italy and an oversized microfiber cleaning cloth. A letterpress authenticity card also accompanies the frame, featuring craftsmen’s signatures and a handwritten serial number.
