Jacques Marie Mage – Yves in Solaris

An icon of uncommon sophistication, the Jacques Marie Mage Yves was originally released in Summer 2018. Inspired by the celebrated French couturiers of the Super Seventies, this distinctive silhouette returns as part of the new Photochromic Collection. This time, JMM combines its signature design with responsive photochromic technology. Limited to just 150 pieces worldwide, the Yves in Solaris offers a bold yet refined expression of luxury eyewear.

Vision

The Yves features a sophisticated wide silhouette with strong proportions and a distinctive vintage character. Moreover, its 10mm cured cellulose acetate frame comes in a rich polished Whiskey finish. Custom double-laminated temples add another layer of depth. Clear beige exteriors meet whiskey crystal interiors for a subtle contrast.

Most importantly, the model comes with photochromic orange lenses. These Armorlite 4-base lenses react naturally to changing light. Outdoors, ultraviolet rays activate the lenses and deepen their tint. Indoors, they gradually return to a lighter shade. As a result, the Yves Solaris creates a dynamic combination that changes throughout the day.

The lenses also provide 100% UVA and UVB protection. In addition, they filter blue-violet light and feature a backside anti-reflective treatment. Therefore, the Yves combines distinctive aesthetics with everyday versatility.

Crafted to perfection

Every detail reinforces the unmistakable Jacques Marie Mage aesthetic. Signature arrowhead front pins come finished in 18K Dark Gold. Furthermore, exposed Classic wirecores feature refined hairline details in the same finish. Custom 7-barrel hinges add durability, while spur-shaped rivetheads complete the temples.

Finally, inner-temple hallmarks in gold foil add a discreet signature. Together, these details balance bold proportions with exceptional finishing.

Limited production batch

As part of the JMM Photochromic Collection, the Yves in Solaris belongs to an exceptionally limited production run. Only 150 pieces have been produced worldwide. Consequently, this edition offers collectors a rare interpretation of one of JMM’s most recognizable silhouettes.

Packaging

The Yves in Solaris arrives in a Bordeaux Empire silk-wrapped monograph box set. It includes a custom leather eyewear case, handcrafted in Italy, as well as an oversized microfiber cleaning cloth. A letterpress authenticity card completes the presentation, featuring craftsmen’s signatures and a handwritten serial number.
