The Jacques Marie Mage Kaine in Solaris is a distinctive JMM design, originally released in Summer 2021. Beautifully beveled and impossibly dapper, this rectangular silhouette returns for the Photochromic Collection with a dynamic new character. Limited to only 200 pieces, the Kaine combines sculptural acetate, refined metal details and responsive photochromic lenses.

Vision

The Kaine features a sophisticated wide rectangular silhouette with beautifully sculpted bevels. Its 10mm cured cellulose acetate construction creates a confident yet elegant presence. Here, the Solaris colourway combines polished whiskey acetate with custom double-laminated temples. Clear beige exteriors meet whiskey crystal interiors, creating a subtle contrast that changes beautifully with the light.

Meanwhile, the Kaine is fitted with Armorlite 4-base photochromic orange lenses. These specialized lenses respond naturally to changing light conditions. Outdoors, ultraviolet rays activate the lenses and deepen their orange tint. Indoors, they gradually return to a lighter shade.

Therefore, the Kaine offers a versatile visual experience throughout the day. The lenses also provide 100% UVA and UVB protection while filtering blue-violet light. In addition, their backside anti-reflective treatment enhances visual comfort.

Crafted to perfection

The Kaine combines refined construction with distinctive JMM details. Signature arrowhead front pins, finished in 18K Dark Gold, bring a recognizable touch to the front. Furthermore, exposed Snaketail wirecores feature refined hairline details and matching Dark Gold finishing.

Custom 7-barrel hinges provide a precise and durable construction. Meanwhile, spur-shaped rivetheads complete the temples with another subtle signature. Finally, inner-temple hallmarks in Gold foil add a discreet finishing detail.

As a result, every element contributes to the Kaine’s sophisticated character. The warm acetate and Dark Gold hardware create a harmonious combination inspired by JMM’s distinctive design language.

Limited production batch

Only 200 pieces of the Jacques Marie Mage Kaine in Solaris have been produced. This limited edition therefore offers a rare interpretation of the Kaine within the innovative Photochromic Collection.

Packaging

The Kaine comes in a Bordeaux Empire silk-wrapped monograph box set. It includes a custom leather eyewear case handcrafted in Italy and an oversized microfiber cleaning cloth. A letterpress authenticity card also accompanies the frame, featuring craftsmen’s signatures and a handwritten serial number.
