The Jacques Marie Mage Leclair in Lacquer is a refined interpretation of the classic Wellington silhouette. Inspired by the sharp character of 1950s eyewear, this sophisticated frame combines strong geometry with elegant detailing. Limited to just 350 pieces worldwide, the Leclair reflects JMM’s distinctive approach to contemporary luxury eyewear.

Vision

The Leclair features a sharp, medium-sized Wellington shape with a distinctly ’50s-inspired character. Its balanced proportions create a confident yet refined look. Meanwhile, the substantial 10mm cured cellulose acetate construction adds depth and presence to the frame.

In the Lacquer colourway, the frame comes in a sophisticated polished dark blue acetate. Furthermore, the custom double-laminated temples combine clear exteriors with dark blue interiors. As a result, the temples reveal a subtle contrast when viewed from the side.

The Leclair is fitted with Armorlite 2-base Lacquer CR39 lenses. Their 10% transmission provides a deep Category 3 tint. In addition, the lenses feature a backside anti-reflective treatment and UV protection. Therefore, they combine strong sun protection with a distinctive JMM aesthetic.

Crafted to perfection

The Leclair brings together sculptural acetate and carefully considered metalwork. Signature arrowhead front pins in Light Gold add a refined touch to the front. Meanwhile, exposed Snaketail wirecores, also plated in Light Gold, bring a subtle technical character to the temples.

Furthermore, custom 5-barrel hinges feature refined hairline details and a matching Light Gold finish. Spur-shaped rivets complete the temple construction. Finally, inner-temple hallmarks foil-stamped in Silver provide a discreet signature of craftsmanship.

Every element therefore serves a purpose. Together, these details create a sophisticated balance between classic inspiration and contemporary luxury.

Packaging

The Leclair comes with an Italian-handcrafted leather eyewear case and a microfiber cleaning cloth that can also be used as a pocket square. The frame is presented in hard-shelled, silk fabric-covered packaging.

A letterpress authenticity certificate completes the presentation. It features the limited-edition serial number and the craftsman’s signature.
