The BUNKER77 BY JMM The Player in Noir is a limited-edition aviator inspired by the radical life of Adolph Bernard “Bunker” Spreckels III. Combining rebellious spirit with exceptional craftsmanship, this distinctive design reflects the mythology of a man who lived beyond convention. Limited to just 250 pieces worldwide, The Player captures the daring attitude of the BUNKER 77 collection.
The Player features a medium-sized aviator silhouette with bold proportions and a confident character. Its design draws inspiration from the glasses Bunker wore in Durban, South Africa, in 1975. There, his legendary lifestyle helped shape the mythology behind this exclusive collection.
The Noir colourway combines 10mm cured cellulose acetate in polished black with custom double-laminated temples. Black exteriors reveal tortoise interiors, adding depth and contrast to the frame. Meanwhile, the distinctive aviator shape creates a timeless yet rebellious look.
Furthermore, the frame features Armorlite 6-base Dark Tuscan lenses. Their 20% transmission rate provides a Category 2 tint. In addition, a backside anti-reflective treatment enhances visual comfort, while UV protection helps shield the eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays.
Every detail reflects the meticulous craftsmanship of Jacques Marie Mage. Signature sterling silver arrowhead front pins bring a refined touch to the front. Meanwhile, hidden Classic wirecores feature delicate hairline details and a Silver Palladium finish.
The custom 7-barrel hinges offer strength and precision. Furthermore, spur-shaped rivets complete the temples with a distinctive industrial character.
The signature detail, however, lies at the temple tips. Each features a Calavera skull-and-bones medallion finished in Silver Palladium. Inspired by Bunker’s personal letterhead, this emblem reinforces the collection’s rebellious identity. Finally, inner-temple hallmarks foil-stamped in Silver complete the design.

The Player arrives in a custom monograph box featuring a Calavera insignia in Red and Copper foil. The set includes one of two custom leather eyewear cases with a Vintage Copper medallion.
Additionally, it features an oversized cleaning cloth reproducing Raphael’s Triumph of Galatea, three archival letterpress photocards and an authenticity card with collection notes, craftsmen’s signatures and the handwritten edition number.
