Jacques Marie Mage – Ichikawa in Smoke Fade
Vision
Step into cinematic brilliance with the Ichikawa in Smoke Fade. A tribute to the visionary Japanese filmmaker Kon Ichikawa, these spectacles evoke midcentury modern elegance with bold artistic energy. Inspired by his eclectic influences—from Walt Disney’s imagination to Jean Renoir’s realism—this frame embodies a blend of East and West, past and future. Wear them, and you’re not just making a statement—you’re writing a visual screenplay of your own.
Crafted to Perfection
Every detail of the Ichikawa reflects precision. The frame is sculpted from 10mm thick grey cured cellulose acetate, offering a substantial yet balanced presence. Custom double-laminated acetate temples add depth and character, while the exposed silver wirecore reveals refined craftsmanship, finished with intricate hairline engraving. The iconic silver arrowhead front pin and 7-barrel tension-secured hinge ensure both durability and sophistication. Lenses in superlight grey CR39 provide clarity with a subtle tone, backed by anti-reflective treatment for daylong comfort.
Limited Production Batch
Only 350 pieces have been handcrafted worldwide. Each frame is laser-engraved with its individual production number, making your pair a truly exclusive collector’s item. Once sold out, this batch will never be reproduced.
Packaging
Experience Jacques Marie Mage’s signature packaging ritual. Each Ichikawa comes in a handmade Italian leather case, paired with a custom cleaning cloth adorned with Hokusai’s artwork. The hard-shelled box is wrapped in silk fabric and includes a certificate of authenticity, embossed on traditional Echizen washi paper.
Aesthetic meets intellect. Whether you’re framing your gaze for work or art, the Ichikawa in Smoke Fade brings gravitas and grace in every glance.
