The STANLEY KUBRICK BY JMM: 1948 in WILLOW celebrates the early vision of one of cinema’s greatest auteurs. Inspired by the glasses worn by a young Stanley Kubrick in 1948, this distinctive frame recalls his formative years as a staff photographer for Look magazine.
At the time, Kubrick was already developing his passion for visual storytelling. He photographed dramatic portraits, celebrities and everyday life with remarkable precision. Consequently, the 1948 captures the intellectual and artistic spirit of this important period.
Its medium proportions create a balanced and versatile silhouette. Meanwhile, the classic shape gives the frame a timeless character. The WILLOW colourway adds a warm and sophisticated touch.
JMM combines vintage inspiration with exceptional craftsmanship. The frame features 10mm cured cellulose acetate in polished black. Furthermore, custom double-laminated temples create a subtle contrast with their black exteriors and black marble interiors.
Signature sterling silver arrowhead front pins provide the unmistakable JMM identity. In addition, seven-barrel hinges finished in silver palladium ensure a precise and durable construction.
Hidden classic wirecores add another discreet detail. Spur-shaped rivet heads, also finished in silver palladium, complete the temples. Finally, silver foil hallmarks inside the temples underline the collector-focused approach.
The frame comes with Armorlite 4-base lenses in Sepia. They feature backside anti-reflective treatment, 49% light transmission and Category 1 UV protection.
